Bill, They generally mandate that you wait 8 weeks between donations of whole blood. Only a few days if you donate only plasma because they spin off your red cells (important for carrying O2 and and such)and give them back to you. It usually takes about month or so before you quit feeling the effects, and this is also scaled, to size/proportion as well. Just like WODs.. a pint of blood from someone my size is a greater relative volume loss than someone much bigger, who has more total volume in circulation. As it is, I am now only 2 lbs over the minimum weight limit for donating, thanks to Cross fit putting some healthy muscle on me! So all in all I'm a happy camper. Training hard in a depleted state is good for making us more efficient, and as the cells come back, I will feel much much better. Which reminds me, you may have heard of "blood doping" which involves athletes (usually endurance athletes) taking a pint of blood out of themselves, storing it for a few weeks, training hard, then putting their own red cells back in. This is not healthy as too many red cells can be dangerous as well.
my smiling face was in bed! no alarm malfunction today though. i'm taking an easy day today and going to a yoga class this afternoon. i MIGHT run this WOD after the meeting on saturday. it DOES look like a good one!
Blame the dogs! Those critters have woken me up every night for the last week and it finally caught up with me. I had to sleep. Sorry I missed it though. I'll see y'all Monday!

Somewhere between pack and puppies (rx rounds with 1.25" blue band for PU's) @ 13:54. Beautiful sky this morning for the runs.
Thanks Stacey. Carport...get fit AND get educated! That would look good on one of our new T shirts
I'm still waiting for Eddie to calculate my total fluid volume, minus a pint, based on my height and weight.. LOL
