firebreather challenge, part of the garage games series, is an event that they are advertising registration at a discount on living social. go here to get the discount:
http://www.livingsocial.com/cities/1697-atlanta_citywide/deals/351072-registration-in-an-obstacle-course-race-t-shirt

here is a summary:
Sign up for June 30 or July 1 and race along 4.5 or 6.5 miles of trail at Olde Rope Mill Park [in woodstock, GA] as you scale eight-foot walls, vault over hurdles, wade through the river, and drag a weighted sled. With each obstacle you complete, you'll collect one wristband proving your accomplishment to the judges. Your registration also includes admission to an after-party in downtown Woodstock. We bet the food and drink specials you'll enjoy at Canyons Burger Company, Copper Coin Coffee, and other establishments will be much better rewards for your efforts than that solid attendance record you've earned at work. Want more? Check out The Firebreather Challenge on Facebook.

the cashout today, so that people can start strategizing is.....

two person team
5000# ground to overhead anyhow (you and a partner get 5000# over your head any way you see fit. be thinking of the best way to achieve this! if there is a team of 2 females, the scale is 2500#)
and
500 double unders (if you can't do double unders, the scale is lateral hops)

there is a 10 min time limit. both people can be working at once, but there is only 1 barbell. (one person can be doing du's while the other is doing ground to overhead) one of the morning teams finished! can you!? :)

Anna G and I cashed out hitting the weight and getting in 426 lateral hops. One day soon Team Anna will prevail :)

Way to go Team 2Anna and Team Sheena/Sandy. You guys scare me! I was trying to figure out how Ash and I could finish 5000 lbs (mostly Ash) and only got 360 DUs but you ladies whupped up on us.....until Sandy told me you all were scaled to 2500. Still that was a great showing ladies, and as Skiddo says I just need to pick up my man parts and put them back in my pocket.

115 lbs 3 rep max push press

Team Cashouts have completely changed the Carport experience. Admit it; everyone of us has either skipped the cashout or done it only half heartedly while convincing ourself that the "work" was done during the WOD. Now, all of a sudden, we're doing essentially a second WOD with as much,if not more, intensity than we did the prescribed WOD. As Judy Ranelli said, "You work even harder because you don't want to let your teammate(s) down." She's right! Plus, we all get extra work on skills that need improvement. Not to mention, they're just plain FUN. We need to keep Team Cashouts. They'll make us all premier level Crossfitters in no time!!!

Actually based on the crossfit WODs our two sons have at two different facilities we are getting not only more of a workout but more bang for our buck. They also do team WODs sometimes but never a weeks worth. I like it. I can coast while Ash does all the hard work:o{)
A regular interval of team cash outs or WODs might be nice...maybe on Fridays like the Friday night lights we did during football season. I agree with P (and Corrie....whoever she is).

We have the BEST box in town hands down!

Remind me sometime and I'll introduce you to Corrie.

Carport CrossFit now open on Wednesday mornings at 5:30!

Starting tomorrow, 6/6/12, the gym will be open at 5:30am. This is a trial run during the month of June. If we have regular attendance, we will keep the class open. If not, we will close it again. This will give you a chance to earn your BINGO letters!! We hope you win! :)

From the islands- keep team cash outs for one more week please! We are missing out but doing travel WODs and skunk work. Look forward to being back in the gym next week!

125 was it! This was my first time to max out on triples so I wasn't sure how it would go. I hoped to get 135x3 but it was too heavy tonight. I probably could have done 130 if I would have chosen that on my 3rd set. I'll try that next time.

Rachel and I ROCKED the cashout! 8:35rx Rachel, you were an awesome partner! :) I was so glad to have you on my team!

75-85-95(2)-100(2)-100! PR
I feel that I could have done more weight, but as Coach Drew pointed out, my speed to lock out was poor and fear of the bar was causing me to push the weight too far away from my body. Also, I recommend a snack before attending the late, late class! ;P

Thanks for the shout out Amber, but truth be told, without you that awesome time wouldn't have happened! Way to rock the ground to overhead! We were great!!
