  1. 185 lbs - finished 2 rounds (with jump overs) and took a DNF due to poor tush placement...(amazing what some folks will do to get out of a cash out).

    If you are still learning to do double Unders, you can count your attempts or do lateral (side-to-side) hops over your bar.

  5. I should have kept reading, sorry to take up blog space, but I bet most people don't get the journal.

  6. I love it. Thanks for posting that Cynthia. It causes me to remember why I do crossfit - not so much for me...but for Sandy and for our kids and grandbabies.

    And I will start screaming more during our morning workouts.

  8. Actually Cynthia that article worked in reverse for Sandy and I. A liitle over a year ago we would wish we had the time or freedom to gain the results we wanted. Then our two sons signed up with Carport and basically shamed us into trying it. First time I met Drew I thought...'Lord have mercy..that man will kill me'....he didn't. Thank you William and Nate. And thank you again COACHES for constantly pushing us forward.

Cynthia, so glad to have you as my training buddy- cause we FO SHO see each other scream, see each other get nervous, see each other burp/almost throw up, see other fail AND PR :)... but, most of all, we support each other and have a BLAST at doing whatever crazy, insane wod our Coaches have programmed for us to do! yay Crossfit!

  12. That's a really great article, thanks so much for posting it. It actually makes me feel better and a little less self conscious. It's kind of nice to know that wanting to throw up isn't a necessarily a bad thing. I've honestly worked harder in the last 3 weeks than I ever have in my life, and I know I'm barely doing anything compared to everybody else, but I will get there!

  14. Kista - you are doing exactly what you need to be doing especially if you have worked harder than you ever have. That is what it is all about. The good news and bad news is that you will never feel like you have done enough because there is always more to do:)

    This article resonated with me because the last WOD we did with dead lifts and burpees. There is no other way to describe it except to say that I was scared the entire WOD. I never felt confident. During the rest periods, I kept breathing and thinking, "I can't believe I am doing this. I am going to do this again. Oh my gosh." over and over again.

    I also love that at a retirement party for a colleague at our house, Wm was doing burpees and yelling "Yay burpees!" in between. CrossFit may be crazy, but it is amazing and fulfilling and a great lesson to teach.

    I am so thankful for all of the friends and coaches at the Carport. You push us and we push each other. Yay CrossFit! (and yay for being sappy!)
