actually, not-taken-care-of hands plus 105 pullups will do that! :)
here is a callus maintenance article along with how to care for hands that are ripped. http://crossfitcc.com/2010/07/22/hand-health-what-to-do-with-your-crossfit-paws/
my favorite of this article is at the end: "One last little word of advice: don’t expect your friends to understand the rips. That’s ok. They’ll understand other things like how to run for 3 miles every day or how to do calf raises with intensity perhaps. When you shake hands with new friends… they’re going to be a little scared. That’s ok. Superheroes are used to that."
Hahahahahaha! Listen, if you get a rip, please feel free to show your battle scars to me! I'll look at them and oo and ah and tell you how much of a bad "a" you are for doing a cajillion pullups! Only a fellow crossfitter will understand! And another word of advice is if your spouse is NOT a fellow crossfitter, don't even THINK about getting sympathy at home! :) You'll get a look like you've lost your ever-loving mind, so suck it up or else he/she will make you clean the bathtub without gloves - and THAT mess HURTS when you have a fresh rip!
hope everyone has been taking care of those calloused hands!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYep - lots of rips today. 105 pullups will do that.
