brooke "the beast" cochran passed this on to me yesterday....it is quite funny and very relevant to a lot of our athletes. it's along the same lines as "mathletically challenged":

LIKE IT BTB! Crossfitlisbeth-been there, feel that. The last sentence sums it up pretty well...'you're not on meth you're on crossfit'.

Another great change up for a WOD this morning!
Started at 115 ended up at 175.

Great start to a great day... plus no attempted robberies this morning.

Yea, crossfit lisbeth gets it!

And I wasn't good at counting before xfit! This ain't helping any...

This was fun today, especially once I narrowed my grip in proportion to my size...

85/95/105/115 broken/115 unbroken!
Yay body weight!

And this is another reason we strength train. Because you never know what kind of missions life will throw at us:

i was off today.

for some reason i started the WOD with 35#. i guess i really wanted to work on form. haha. i realized later that i should have started heavier. oh well. here's what i ended up doing:

5 reps @ 35
5 reps @ 45
5 reps @ 55
5 reps @ 65
5 reps @ 75
5 reps @ 85
1 rep @ 105 - didn't mean to add that much.
2 reps @ 95 - at this point i was tired and my back felt "tweaky" so i called it a day.

Wow - 7 sets! Sheena was on fire.

Stacey:

Looks to me like a combination "rowing" movement and "one arm dumbbell snatch" movement. What do you think?

Puma,
The guy in the video was a lot more fluid than I was! I'll let the coaches be the guides when it comes to proper form, but for me it was pretty much a dead lift with hook grip. Also different was using a wider grip, and more of a turned out stance so that the knees could get "out of the way" a little better.
But other than most things being different it was pretty much the same.
hehe.
If that helps.

Oh... You meant in the kitty picture...
uh...
I completely concur... yes... rowing and snatch combination for sure.
That was an ID 10 T error...

Stacey, I just laughed so hard at your detailed explanation of how your WOD went for Puma and your subsequent A-HA moment post.

I did 5 sets at 45#. My back is not ready for any substantial weight yet so I focused on form. Then worked on the "Drew & Cori fix Anna's back plan" of stretching and improving core strength.

ROFLOL!!! Yes Stacey, the kitty pic!

Puma,
I have a dumb question....

What is your "actual" name?
Who are you?

Puma said...

Rich Froning

Do you really not know who Puma is? That would make this chain even funnier...
This is Cynthia BTW:)
I am the spoiler - his name is David Pugh, father of "No shirt" Pugh.

stacey said...

I honestly didn't.... If someone hasn't been to a morning class, I have no idea who they are, as I've never been to evening class. I always see the names on the board in the morning but I have no faces to go with the names, other than Kerry, because I knew her previously.

You can laugh more now... there.
That's better. Go ahead, once more... with feeling...

I hate it when I communicate with someone I am unfamiliar with! Honestly laughing with you, not at you:) I hope to see you tomorrow morning at 6:)

That's rich Stacey!
Pugh is aka P whom I'm fairly certain we will never see in the a.m. P is also one of the few living Carport Masters.

Puma said...

That's rich Bill: famous solely for being "alive." Guess that's what we Masters have to be proud of!!

I already teased Stacey for not remembering meeting me when we ran Murphy together on Memorial Day and got our picture taken together which was posted on FB and this site. Of course, I admitted to being a fairly "forgettable" guy!!
