It does not matter your skill level. Everyone can sign up. This is a great way to get involved with the Birmingham Crossfit community. Or come out and just watch. This will be a lot of fun!
Warning - this might get sappy:) I competed in my first CrossFit competition today with people I consider to be my friends. We all went out there and pushed ourselves as hard as we could go. We did it for ourselves, but we also did it for all of those around us that were yelling for us to keep moving, pick up the ball, stand up or just to get out of our heads. I pushed myself harder than I ever have today. I went well beyond my supposed physical limitations. It isn't just about picking up a bar loaded with weight and squatting to depth or Rx. It is about doing more than you (or your doctors) thought possible. I am so grateful for this gym and the people in it for giving myself and my husband a way to make ourselves stronger emotionally, physically and mentally in order to be better parents for our boys. We are better than we were and are grateful for it. Way to go Cori and Brooke! Cori was first in Rx - woo hoo! Brooke was first in scale - woo hoo! Proud of me (Rx), Jonathan (scale) and Dave (Rx) for our finishes (not last, 5th & 4th). Go Carporters!!! Oh - and the ROCK STAR Oatie for coming out and cheering us on all day long - you seriously helped me get through that second WOD. I will now know how to breathe!
ok, you just made me cry. :) that's exactly why i love crossfit! (not the crying, but your description.)
i am SO proud of you guys! we ALL did so awesome, and it makes my heart so full to see everyone push themselves and represent carport so well! thanks for making our gym so great!
Cori - I am up for another, but hopefully there is a little gap between this one and another. I am pretty sure that getting out of bed in the morning is going to be challenge:) My legs are shot!
Was out running Sat.am. did my 10k "HILL" run. Normally I'm happy to get this in under an hour. Did a PR in 55:26. My first half mile was a minute faster-it's uphill all the way.. I'm getting stronger! I coudl feel every squat and box jump carrying me up!
